Holiday Movies

Going to the movies during the holidays is one of my favorite things to do! Its always nice to get out of the (not so cold) weather and snuggle with your significant other. It is most definitely a romantic time to go. Even if you cannot make it to the theater its also great to stay home and rent some oldies! Some reccomendations would be...
Titanic
Wedding Crashers
The Notebook
Secret Window
or even Finding Nemo!

HOW BOUT' THEM LIGHTNING OSCARS!?

I hope a lot of you in Mrs. Stoklosa's class attended. It was really a night to remember. From Mrs. GPA to Bromance i think almost every category was covered. Our hosts Amanda and Anthony were absolutely superb and our performances were spectacular.

One thing though that many dont recognize or really care about is what goes on backstage. How shows like The Lightning Oscars and Bay Babes are able to function smoothly. Basically its SGA's executive board. We all put in hours and hours... and hours to make events like this happen and so many other things happen at Cypress as well.

I'm making this blog just to thank our Student Government and to encourage our class to volunteer or even run for an officer for next semester.

Mean Girls

Throw Back! I havent recently seen this movie but it is one of my favorites, no doubt. I think the story line is so "real life related" and the movie is hilarious. This movie is a PERFECT example of high school today. Cliques, cliques and wait, more cliques. Each role in the film was played to the tee. And every character was so wonderfully created. I think this is a great movie and if you get the chance to watch I can assure you you'll be laughing. Super fun and realistic.

Blindside

GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT movie. Can I say great any more times? Well, I really enjoyed it a lot! I love true stories and im a sucker for sad storylines. The film is pretty much the timeline of pro NFL football player Michael Oher. The length was perfect. I also believe Sandra Bullock played a superb role as the wealthy mother. Be prepared to cry. Great movie for guys and girls!

Movie Theater's Descriptions Around Weston

Weston 8- Not a bad movie theater, its very local to all who live in Weston. However DO NOT go on a Friday night. Weston 8 is jam packed with kids from all middle schools and younger grades, its not very fun when you can barely move around the lobby. On any other night its a breeze, there are only a few show times but the matniee price is surprisingly very cheap.
Cinemark(Muvico) Paradise 24- My personal favorite theater of all time. I absolutely love the location and all the restaurants and shops near it. (LUTZ!) The showtimes are great for anyones schedule and the movie theaters themselves are very cozy and comfortable.
Regal Cinemas Sawgrass 23- A bit farther than the above two, but also a nice theater. I'd have to say this is my least favorite cinema of all. the location is nice and all but its not very cozy to me. This is also another theater that has a huge teen population!

Twilight Saga: New Moon

NEW MOON, NEW MOON, NEW MOON! The latest craze at the theaters. From screaming teen girls to vampire costumes and midnight premeires, New Moon was obviously a huge hit at the box office. Now i know most of you "Twilight haters" say that the Saga is way too fan obsessed, I'd have to say though that the new movie was pretty good. Now would i reccomend it to most men or boys, no, however its a cute movie that i believe most females would enjoy.

I believe New Moon was a stronger version than its "brother" Twilight. The new director and added on cast contributed to its well performance. As many of you know, the backound of New Moon is basically that a human, normal girl falls in love with a bloodsucking abnormal vampire. However the twist in this new movie is that a new creature is brought out. And plenty of secrets are revealed. Great special effects and strong cast. I throughly enjoyed it!

2012

Super long! Extremely long! LONG! If you cant stand sitting in a theater for 3 hours, this isnt the movie for you. Im not going to put it down however, because it was another great movie. To my surprise many exquiset films are being produced this winter. Many of them I have blogged about.

Well to sum this movie up its about the END OF THE WORLD. Its a whole bunch of natural diasasters that one family specificly encounters and the rest of the world go through. It als is about how the goverment handles it in such a corrupt manner. Do I believe this is whats really happening to world, no, but its a definite possibility..

The special effects in this film were spectacular, I wouldnt be surprised if they won awards for that. Two thumbs up 2012!

LAW ABIDING CITIZEN!

Great movie!! 2 thumbs up for sure. Not only was it an action but a horror too, Ill admit I was a little frightened at some parts of this film. I hate to say it but, it feels like there arent many really good movies that have come out. Movies like this however make up for it.

The main characters in this film are played by both Jaime Fox, and Gerard Butler. Both GREAT actors to place together. To me, they work extremely well off of one another. The movie is rated R only for violence and vulgar language. However I still do reccommend it to everyone!

Paranormal Activity

Before i got the chance to even watch the movie i was recieving mixed reviews. I'd hear from one person it was a total waste of money and not scary at all, and then from another person that it was the scariest thing they had ever seen.

I went to see it on Halloween at midnight and i will tell you one thing, when i got home I was so utterly paranoid that i couldnt even get out of bed to shut my closet door. To me this movie was scary but not because there were things popping out at you or legs and arms being ripped off someones body. It was realistic. And that is why i believe most people were scared.

The main concept of it was that this young couple who had just decided to move in together were experiencing "paranormal activity" in their home. I dont want to give it away to much but id give it a thumbs up for sure.

I also heard it only took $15,000 to make this movie. I could imagine how much the director has profited, being that this movie was so popular...

Fight Club

This weekend on my LONG journey to Unviersal Studios, I watched the movie Fight Club. I could probably say that it was one of the best movies I've seen in a while. Not only was the film violent and full of action, but it also was very humorous and romantic.

The movie is about a man in his early 30's who has serious mental issues. However he refuses to seek help for them. He lives his life with his "so called" companion, best friend Tyler Durden. Him and Tyler start their very own Fight Club in which the first rule is to "never speak of it". The Club becomes a huge gang around the whole Nation and as the story progresses things get out of hand and he finds out who he really is, his true identity.

This film definitely kept me on the edge of my "car seat"! I truley, truely enjoyed it and i think you all will too, especially if your'e into the psych brain kinda thing. Its not a new release and its been out for quite a while. Great movie choice!

P.S. I WILL be posting about new and old movies so stay tuned in!

Couples Retreat

Complete waste of money! If I were to rate this movie, it would receive LESS than one star. Not only was this movie unamusing and not funny at all but it was BORING. I could have fell asleep in the middle of it.

Watching the commercials for Couples Retreat i was super excited to watch it. I absolutely loved all the actors and actresses that were playing in it. I figured I'd be laughing uncontrollably during it. However to my dissatisfaction I didn't laugh once.

The storyline in the movie was that there were 4 unhappy couples who decided to go to a "resort island" that they figured would be a fun, and great way to get away from stress. When they arrived at EDEN hotel and resort they realized that they got themselves into one big couples therapy session. Everyone was miserable and relationships were getting worse and worse by the day. In the end of the movie however the couples re-united and lived happily ever after.

Horrible ending, to conclude a terrible movie. Bad movie choice. Don't waste your money or time.
